The Appeldorn factory provides white sugar for the beverage industry and other manufacturing industries.
A third of the sugar is stored as thick juice during the beet campaign and processed into crystallised sugar over the following summer.

The Elsdorf factory and its Wevelinghoven branch specialises in the production of speciality sugars, for example, white candy sugar, icing sugar, sugar cubes, gelling sugar and sugar loaves. The central packaging station for small Kölner- and Diamant Zucker sugar packets for the household market is also in Elsdorf.

The Euskirchen factory produces white sugar, liquid sugars of various qualities and speciality syrups.
In addition, different types of brown candy sugar (brown candy, brown rock candy sugar and brown candy sugar crystals) and brown sugar are produced as household speciality items, as well as for the manufacturing industry.

In Könnern, refined sugar, white sugar and sugar cubes are produced, and sold in household packages under the brand name “Diamant”, as well as in bulk to the manufacturing industry.

Spezialzucker-Raffinerie Lage GmbH & Co. Betriebs-KG (SZR)

The SZR [specialised sugar refinery], a holding company with the Boettger-Gruppe, Berlin, has been situated opposite the sugar factory since 1975. Invert sugar syrups and mixed syrups, caramel colour, sugar caramel syrup and sugar cubes are produced here. In addition, the SZR specialises in packaging white sugar and sugar cubes in single-serving packages. Managing Director: Dieter Grittern.
